Just ask arjun

I think I’m turning into a collagen junkie. I have been using collagen supplements regularly for the last six months, and I reviewed some of my favourite collagen supplements here. I find that collagen supplements help firm and nourish the skin from within, and I certainly do notice a lack of ‘glow’ when I skip them for a week or two. Correxiko’s Collagen Booster is one of the most advanced collagen supplements on the market, and I’ve been
wanting to try it since I saw it on I Am Natural Store a few months ago. I’ve been using it everyday for the last four weeks, and here are my impressions so far:

What is it?

To give you a bit of background information, Correxiko is a UK-based wellness brand that make clean, scientifically-formulated skin and body supplements. Their website states that all their nutritionally-dense wholefood supplements have:

  • No GMO. No soy.
  • No fillers. No Dyes.
  • No tablets.
  • No magnesium stearate.
  • No silicon dioxide.
  • No sugars or sweeteners.

The Correxiko Close Up Collagen Booster is an unflavoured collagen powder containing Type 1 & Type 2 French marine collagen. Although it is marketed as just a collagen powder, it contains other impressive ingredients like hyaluronic acid, pomegranate and green tea extracts, MSM and skin ceramides.

Skincare junkie trying to go green. Online shopping addict. Semi-paleo. Fashion enthusiast. Short fiction dabbler.

How to use:

It took me a few days to figure out the best way to take this supplement. Although it is unflavoured and dissolves instantly in cold/room temperature liquids, it made water taste a bit funky when I mixed it with plain water. After a couple of days of trial and error, I figured out the best way to have it was to add it to my morning cereal. I sprinkle one scoop over dry cereal and pour almond/rice/coconut milk over it, and it dissolves instantly, without altering the taste of the cereal one bit. I’ve also tried adding it to my protein shakes and smoothies, and that works well, too.

As I mentioned at the start, I have been taking collagen supplements for a while, and I wasn’t sure I’d be able to see visible results from using this. The results I got from this product, however, were more instant and impressive than any other collagen supplement I’d tried. Think of this as collagen on steroids. I think the addition of hyaluronic acid and MSM, which work in synergy with collagen, gives it that extra oomph. My skin looks plumper and more hydrated since I started using this. We are in the middle of winter here in Australia, and I find that my skin doesn’t get dry even when I forget to use my body cream. In addition to its skin benefits, Collagen Booster promotes healthy hair, nails and joints.

At £64.95 or AU$133 (at I Am Natural Store) for a month’s supply, it is more expensive than other collagen supplements on the market, but I feel that I’m getting my money’s worth because I don’t need a separate MSM (Oskia) or Hyaluronic Acid (Fountain) supplement when I’m taking this.

Correxiko offers free worldwide shipping for orders over £100 or US$150. They have a whole array of internal beauty supplements, which includes their signature Skin Supplement, Hair Supplement, Lightening Supplement and Nail Supplement. In addition to skin supplements, they also have an impressive line of protein and superfood powders. I can’t wait to try more products from this brand: I really don’t think there is anything else like Correxiko in the crowded world of skin and body supplements.
